About this ebook

"And in this quiet moment as I close my eyes, spent and sated, I think I'm in the eye of the storm. And in spite of all he's said, and what he hasn't said, I don't think I have ever been so happy."

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana's quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey's secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This series makes no sense within the context of real relationships. It's pretty sad when even people who practice BDSM go "This is an abusive relationship." They're not the same thing. But getting away from that, it's like this book series was written by a child who had just watched their first porno and went "I can write something like this." Avoid it. But since you're here, you'll probably read it anyways.

A poor excuse for real bdsm. A real D/s relationship is so much better than this junk. I can't believe so many people think that this is good. This doesn't show how a healthy bdsm relationship really works or should work. If you just take this book a lot of people will be seriously hurt. Do your research before attempting. It takes years of undivided attention before a Dom can really call himself a Dom. Do not be fooled by this book. It is bad for the public and for those of us who live this lifestyle.

This is the kind of book that someone who enjoys soap operas, reading entertainment rag-mags and spends an inordinate amount of time updating her Facebook status with inane comments would read. Shallow, trite and silly. Weak writing, perfect for 30+ who still have "angst" about their "romances". The fact that it's so popular is a scary indication of the level of intelligence of a lot of women (and men, apparently)
